Shit Robot!

TOO MUCH LOVE is thrilled to present the one and only SHIT ROBOT, from NYC'S DFA Records. Shit Robot is on his North American tour, and he touches down at First Ave on Saturday October 24 - one of his few dates in the states. Once again, this is world-reknowned talent at the usual dirt cheap price! Shit Robot is a powerhouse of a DJ and producer, and will certainly make it a night to remember.

For those of you who don't know, a brief history: Shit Robot, aka Marcus Lambkin, grew up in Ireland listening to punk music, and discovered acid house in the late 80's. After hearing such luminaries as Andrew Weatherall and David Holmes, Marcus started DJing in 1992, with a move from Dublin to NYC. There he learned his way around the decks on the now famous Brownies. After a number of residencies around the city, including the Save the Robots party, Marcus met fellow Irishman Dominique Keegan and formed Plant Records, Plant Saturdays and Plant Bar.

Plant Bar, aka the "coolest and loudest bar in New York City," was the infamous club (and sound system) frequented by the soon-to-be DFA crew, including Marcus, James Murphy, Juan Maclean, the Rapture and a slew of others (Fat Boy Slim, Ad Rock, Felix da Housecat), where alliances were formed and DJs were born. After a flier featuring crappy robot drawing from James, Marcus' new moniker Shit Robot was coined.

In 2004, Marcus moved to Stuttgart Germany with his wife. Shit Robot has since produced the "Wrong Galaxy" and "Chasm" 12 inch singles for DFA, has remixed artists like Simian Mobile Disco and Dondolo, and this year saw the release of "Simple Things (Work It Out)", a house anthem of malaise and paranoia featuring Ian Svenonius of Nation of Ulysses, Weir War, and the Make-Up fame.

He is now set to release his self-produced debut album on DFA early next year. We couldn't be happier to have him, so make sure not to miss this very special edition of TML! Sovietpanda is the warm-up act as usual, and you know this will be a killer party.

Check out his SIMPLY SHIT mix for a preview, it's a jam!
